Currently, hledger web --port N is not allowed, because hledger rejects --port (cmdargs limitation), so you have to type hledger web -- --port N. This is accepted, however, the options following -- are ignored. The only way to specify them is by invoking the addon directly, hledger-web --port N.

In other words,
hledger web --port N <- we'd like to do this, but can't yet
hledger web -- --port N <- 0.15 docs say to do this, but the options after -- are ignored
hledger-web --port N <- so do this for now

Fixed in darcs, so at least options 2 and 3 above now work. The relevant cmdargs issue for option 1 is http://code.google.com/p/ndmitchell/issues/detail?id=470 .
