SimpleGeo International Neighborhoods Dump
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
This archive contains the SimpleGeo International Neighborhoods dataset from 04
August 2011 in various formats.
See the blog post for more details on the dataset:
http://blog.simplegeo.com/2011/08/05/its-a-beautiful-day-in-the-neighborhood/
-------------
What's Inside
-------------
geojson/ GeoJSON, one per city
kml/ KML, one per city
shp/ A single ESRI Shapefile of the entire dataset
Each record in the Shapefile also includes the name of the city, the WoE ID of
the city (parent_id), and the WoE feature type (either "Suburb" in the case of
informal neighborhoods, or "LocalAdmin" in the case of formal city divisions).
Otherwise, the three formats provided in this archive are functionally
identical.

Where It Comes From
-------------------
SimpleGeo produced this dataset using Open Source software published at
http://github.com/simplegeo/betashapes/.
This dataset is derived from:
* Yahoo! GeoPlanet (http://developer.yahoo.com/geo/geoplanet/data/)
* OpenStreetMap (http://openstreetmap.org/)
* the public Flickr API (http://www.flickr.com/services/api/)
Because the dataset is based on OSM, we make it available to you under the ODC
Open Database License 1.0. Please see the license summary and disclaimer below,
and the full license text as given in LICENSE.txt.
SimpleGeo makes it easy for developers to build location-aware applications.
