I've heard from some people that they'd like a halfway point between bridged and opted out where they can choose which posts to bridge. I'd have to think about a generic (cross-network) way to do that, but still, definitely a good idea.

Until we have this, if you're on the fediverse, one way to bridge only some of your posts is to use public vs unlisted. Bridgy Fed only bridges fully public posts; it ignores unlisted, followers-only, and other non-public posts.

Would the cross-network way to do this be other server implementations just blocking the brid.gy domain for certain posts? Like something in-between Glitch-Soc's local only post and a generic public post where you select servers that aren't allowed to access the content? Or did you have something more specific in mind

Hmm. I don't quite follow that idea, and I don't have anything specific on mind yet. It would need either UI in Bridgy Fed, or a DM-based UI with the bot users, or specific hashtag(s) in post content, or something similar. Those all seem complicated and brittle and unlikely to get much uptake, so I don't personally plan to prioritize this any time soon. Just wanted to mention the fediverse-specific way to do this that works already.
