Current Budgie version

budgie-desktop 10.5.2

Use-cases

On switching from one Desktop to another, e.g. using ctrl+alt+arrow left/right. You actually have to guess which workspace you're on.

Proposal

An overlay like you have it for volume or screen brightness but maybe in the middle of the screen could be displayed containing the name you can give or the number of the workspace, if no name is given. Display time is about a second.

References

This feature can be found on almost every other desktop environment.
