1. HBase: For an Overview and for installation. Install HBase version 0.90.3 for now, standalone version from the link You will have to add the following to conf/hbase-site.xml :

8. Install eclipse . Go to Window -> Preferences -> Server -> Runtime Environment and then click on Add.
Select Apache Tomcat v7.0 . Then select the place where you have installed apache-tomcat 7.0.29 and then Select Finish .
9. Next go to Help -> Eclipse Marketplace and then Search Maven and then install Maven Integration for Eclipse WTP.
10. Now go to File -> New -> Other -> Maven -> Maven Project and select crux.
