Additional verbose flag displays upstream branch for git-branch #533

wants to merge 1 commit into from

As of git 1.8.3:

-v, -vv, --verbose
When in list mode, show sha1 and commit subject line for each head, along with relationship to upstream branch (if any). If given
twice, print the name of the upstream branch, as well (see also git remote show ).

It seems a bit too verbose.

Does anyone else want this? It seems a bit too verbose.

I've been using it for a while -- since I don't use the branch list that often, I like the verbosity and to quickly see what the upstream branch is. I might suggest keeping it only for gbL but perhaps not gbl?

Either way -- if you decide it's too verbose, that's fine -- I can override it for my own use, no problem.
