After reading the online documentation Sebastian has just announced, I
wanted to try the sslcacertfile option [1]

Two things:

  1. It works fine, however, when specifying a wrong certificate gives
    that kind of warning:

| WARNING: Could not connect via SSL to host '' and
| non-standard ssl port 993 configured. Make sure you connect to the
| correct port.

to continue on this one, if this is the right certificate but it is expired, the error message is:

| ***** Processing account sltosis
| Copying folder structure from IMAP to Maildir
| Establishing connection to
| WARNING: Error occured attempting to sync account 'sltosis':
| Traceback (most recent call last):
| File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.7/offlineimap/", line 177, in syncrunner
| self.sync()

| elif isinstance(e, socket.error) and e.args[0] == errno.ECONNREFUSED:
| NameError: global name 'errno' is not defined
| ***** Finished processing account sltosis

As you see, "same" problem, different error.
