See upstream libxml2 commit 6f1470a where the recursion limit is hardcoded to 5000 stack frames.
libxml 2.9.12 fixes the parser to ignore namespaces in HTML docs, likely in upstream commit 21ca882.

Some tests changed, one test removed, to accommodate libxml2 behavior changes.
Does this change affect the behavior of either the C or the Java implementations?
Obvs just the CRuby implementation.
