Become a sponsor to Julien Palard
French developer, from France, I mainly write in Python.
TL;DR: cpython, documentation translation, and hackinscience.org.
I'm working on ... probably too many things, but my key contributions are:
- I translate (I'm no longer alone!) the Python documentation in french, and help other countries in the translation process (PEP 545 I wrote).
- I maintain the Python script running https://docs.python.org, and I'm always near the Python doc (I'm mostly present in a single mailing list: docs@python.org)
- I maintain sphinx-lint a Sphinx doc linter.
- I maintain https://hackinscience.org a free (and without ads), open source Python learning platform with instant feedback from a "correction bot" (it takes time to write, looks like there's an infinite number of ways to fail an exercise...)
- I help organizing AFPy events (AFPyro in Paris, PyConFr in France, i18n workshops).
And when there's still some time left:
- I try to review cpython PR about documentation, but I lack time (trying to fix this, sponsoring may help!)
- Rewrote isutf8 from moreutils.
- Author of logtop, a live version of the
| sort | uniq -c | sort -gr | head
that we all used too many times (yes, packaged on Debian and some other). - powrap, pospell, pomerge, pogrep: utilities to work on big translations (Usefull for python-docs-fr, we use those tools a lot, of I've told by other countries they use them too).
- pipe, infix operator lib for Python.
- Way too many other things, as the repos and forks on my github is telling: https://github.com/JulienPalard?tab=repositories
- I help organizing PyCon France, and I organize Python meetups in Paris.
Why I need sponsors
My goal is to use the founds to get more time to work on open source (sorry $DAYJOB), I'd like to focus mainly on cpython, hackinscience, and the french translation for the moment.
I'm currently working part time (3/5), and I'm teaching Python from time to time, I contribute to open source when there's free time. Having sponsors could help change those proportions towards more open source contribution time.
