What started as an idea in 2012 has turned into one of the most popular platforms in the world, used today from people like Apple, OpenAI, Tinder, Mozilla and NASA — to The Stanford Review, Columbia Journalism Review and Harvard International Review.

Our focus is on giving the next generation of creators and publishers great, open source tools to grow an engaged audience, and turn it into a sustainable business.

🌺 Who's behind this?

Ghost started out as a pipedream by John O'Nolan and Hannah Wolfe, and has since flourished into a real business.

Alongside building a unique product, we've created a different type of company to support it. Ghost is set up as a distributed non-profit organisation, with a team of 17 spread all over the world. The structure of the company means that Ghost can never be bought or sold, it exists solely to serve its users and continue to make great software.

Currently our only source of funding is Ghost(Pro) - our premium, managed service for running Ghost in the cloud - so if you're looking for an alternative way to support the project, we've put together some great packages for those who are interested in becoming sponsors!
