I work on the Poio project which publishes open source tools to support under-resourced languages on computers and mobile devices. Currently my main focus is on Poio Text Prediction, a corpus-based text input support system that simplifies the way people enter text in any language, on the web and offline, on smartphones, tablets and on desktop computers.
There are currently around 7.000 languages spoken all over the world, but in many communities there has been a strong tendency to learn and use only major languages such as English, German, Spanish, Mandarin etc., especially in electronic communication. I think that open source technology can be used to teach, revitalize and therefore boost the use of regional languages. This technology should also assist the renewal of local languages and cultures by allowing people to actively teach, learn, extend, and spread their language in their community. My aim is to give people the ability to use their mother tongue in everyday electronic communication, no matter where they are or what language they speak.

We will add a language of your choice to Poio. This depends on the data that we are able to gather and will just provide basic functionality in the beginning, but we will use it as a basis to engage with the language community of your language.
