I think this is a very good feature of latest rspec. It was introduced in 2.8.x series, as stated here.

Currently I have a rails project which uses the following gems for testing

rspec
spork
guard-rspec
guard-spork

When I run specs without --drb option rspec seed changes at every execution, while when I'm running specs through spork the seed is different at every spork restart, but constant across spec execution. This happens with both guard-rspork and plain spork.

I don't know if this issue is given by spork or rspec, but it would be nice to have the --rand option working as expected when using spork.
