This proposal describes how to run the built-in server included with Spress. This HTTP server are included with development purposes for seeing your work in progress.

The proposal add two new options to site:build command:

$ spress site:build [--watch] [--server]
  • --watch: watching for changes and regenerated automatically your site.
  • --server: the built-in server will run by default at http://localhost:4000

You can configure the host and port parameters in config.yml file of your site:

host: '0.0.0.0'
port: 4000
