Hi,

I'm Debian Maintainer of SpringFramework package [1].
The package is not currently part of Debian but will be soon (awaiting upload).

In Debian, we have a monitoring system which check upstream website / download site once a day to check if there is a new upstream release of each package.
This system, DEHS [2], is fully automated and cannot submit a form to get access to a download area : It can just parse HTML page to get URL links.

  • SpringSource Download page [3] couldn't work with this system (need to submit a form, even following the "No" button)
  • Your Amazon S3 webapp [4] can't handle file listing, get "<Error><Code>AccessDenied</Code></Error>" error

Could you please a download area like sourceforge.net or apache.org ?

Ben - could you comment on feasibility for this? Thanks.

That's not really my department. I think Giorgio or Adam Fitzgerald should be the contact point for the download page.

This issue is resolved for me as I've found an alternative way to get a listing of all Spring Framework releases.
Spring Framework release and related ZIP/tarball are under the following URL :

https://s3browse.springsource.com/browse/dist.springframework.org/release/SPR/
(where SPR is Spring Framework. May be SEC, for Spring Security and so on)

Thanks,

Damien Raude-Morvan
