Oliver Drotbohm opened SPR-11425 and commented

Currently, there's no easy way to access the HttpMethod in a controller method. This is specifically useful in case you map a controller method to multiple HTTP methods and need to disambiguate within the implementation.

Being able to inject the HttpMethod instance into the controller method directly would be helpful. Also, exposing the method on ServletWebRequest would be helpful as well.

Affects: 3.2.7, 4.0.1
