Madhura Bhave opened SPR-17619 and commented

In Spring Boot, when binding EnumSet values, the CollectionToCollectionConverter is called with a target type of RegularEnumSet. CollectionFactory tries to create a new instance of RegularEnumSet and fails.

We could probably fix this by changing this to an isAssignable check.

The entire stacktrace is in this comment.
