backport expects that the user has their own fork of the repo, and will therefore attempt to always only push branches to the fork.

Not all orgs use forks and it should be possible to create backport branches on the origin repo.

Disable fork mode in .backportrc.json:

  "upstream": "elastic/kibana",
  "branches": [{ "name": "7.x", "checked": true }, "7.3", "7.2"],
  "fork": false
