Problem: Spaced Repetition Plugin does not support links

Links currently do not work. My computer gives me a message telling me I need to open the links in a new app.

Desired Solution: Make links work while keeping the current note or flashcard visible

An idea for this would be to make the background behind the flashcard not darken and allow the position of the card to be more towards the left (instead of the center of the screen), so that any opened links could open in panes on the right and be visible.

Obstacles to implementation

As mentioned in reply to my initial post on the Obsidian forum, the Obsidian API doesn't currently support links.

Possible Workaround

I've noticed I can use obsidian URI for a possible workaround. When I write my links in the format [My Note](obsidian://open/?vault=My%20Vault&file=My%20Note) instead of the usual [[My Note]], the links work when I click on them by opening a pane with the desired note's content (granted, hovering over these links still does not provide a preview of the note, but this is better than nothing).

On that note, a possible workaround for implementing links would be to automatically convert the links in the following manner when presenting a flashcard or note for review:

  1. Convert [[My Note]] to:
  • [My Note](obsidian://open/?vault=My%20Vault&file=My%20Note)
  1. Convert [[Folder 1/Folder 2/My Note]] OR [[Folder 1/Folder 2/My Note | My Note]] to:
  • [My Note](obsidian://open/?vault=My%20Vault&file=Folder%201%2FFolder%202%2FMy%20Note)
