Steps to reproduce

  1. Install default site in localhost
  2. Turn on debugging and debug bar in CP
  3. View default site homepage and ensure debug Variables tab is open
  4. View non-existant page, e.g., localhost/wisteria

Expected behaviour

Debug variables should include layout and template fields

Actual behaviour

layout and template info not present (NB. I didn't cross-check everything vs. homepage—was just looking for these two vars.)

Server configuration

Operating system:
Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.5

Web server:
Apache/2.4.18 (Unix)

PHP version:

Statamic version:

Updated from an older Statamic or fresh install:

List of installed addons:
Whatever comes in the box

P.S. modifying the expected layout and template files confirms everything is working as it should...

modified: site/themes/redwood/layouts/default.html
modified: site/themes/redwood/templates/errors/404.html

(Inserting <p>"Hello World"</p> shows up on the page, for example.)

So why do I care? Because I've had a hiccup trying to debug using a custom 404 layout, and so just happened to notice this debug-var non-reporting thing, and thought I'd pass that info along.
