I am in the process of migration from awesome nested set to ancestry gem and was trying to replace move_to_child_of(parent) method of awesome nested set to something similar in ancestry.

We can set the parent attribute on the node

node = Node.find(params[:id])
parent = Node.find(params[:parent_id])

node.parent = parent
node.save

you can also set the parent_id directly

PS: Please close this issue, if this solves your problem

This is what I'm using as well. I guess this issue can be closed.
