URGENT: Slider in IE9/8 - images broken #202

@WulleBulle

Hi,

we just tested the slider in IE9 and 8. The first image shows up but further images are broken so IE shows a white area with a red cross just like the image can't be found. Tested it in jsfiddle http://jsfiddle.net/Yq3RM/202/ and in our CMS integration.

In every other browsers (chrome, opera, safari) everything seems to be fine.

Here an image:

What's the problem?

Thx and greetings
Wulle

@robinshi

I have same issue in IE7/8/9. Keep reloading the page will see the broken images. Replicated in BXslide demo site.

@WulleBulle

So I just want to ask if there are any news on that? It is strange that some users have experiencing this issue while others can view the images without any problems. I've tested it with and without IE-Cache...no difference here.

Hi WulleBulle,
From what Fiddler has found, the session for images are aborted somehow. I downloaded the modified version of bxslider from https://raw.github.com/ADmad/bxslider-4/51376146a9194c2b26ff46499be13a3cbb033a26/jquery.bxslider.js, then set preloadImages:'visible'. It fixed the issue from my IEs. Hope it helps.

@robinshi

I found two syntax error in line 164 and 182 which fails IE7, you need to get rid of the commas.

Images not loading in IE9 #87

@manuel1

Robinshi, thanks for posting your solution!! I was starting to go insane!

Greetings,
Manuel

@sebiszon

I think that the problem is in the imagesloaded library which is used within bxslider. The issue is reported on their github (desandro/imagesloaded#40), but it's not resolved yet.

Temporary solution is to turn off imagesloaded for IE by replacing line 231 with:

if (navigator.appName == "Microsoft Internet Explorer") {
start();
} else {
el.children(preloadSelector).imagesLoaded(start);
}
