Wow. Yes that would be truly awesome. Would open up a lot of awesome interactive possibilities.

My company Ørsted is a world leader in Offshore Windfarms. Wouldn't it be truly awesome if we could create a monitoring app for a wind farm in Streamlit where we can start out with an image of all our windfarms across the world and indicate where we have the most urgent operational problems and then be able to drill our way down by clicking on individual windfarms, turbines and other compents. And get a lot of ML and Analytics help as we go?

It would also enable interactivity between an image and a table. If the user clicks the image we can filter the table accordingly. Awesome.

It's possible that we'll implement this in the future but not sure. But I think this would also be a great feature for a custom component!
