On changing to zsh shell when creating a markdown file a blank screen is displayed in the browser.
Have read through previous issues and all the tests work.
Changing back to bash and I have no problems and everything works fine.
Any ideas please?
@dtdave btw I've just updated the plugin with @chreekat's changes and tested in zsh. Seems to work for me.
Tried the updated plugin but no joy. Thanks for the help.
I finally managed to get the plugin working in both shells. However I can only open and edit one markdown file. If I create another then the browser window does not open. I can go back to the one file that has opened and everything works.
Hey dtdave, what steps did you need to make it work in zsh?
More by luck than judgement I think! As I use rvm for ruby management I re-installed the required gem.
However I can only edit the first markdown file I created-this works fine. If I save this as another .md file or create a new .md file I don't get the browser window opening.
I have now managed to get it working in both shells. I uninstalled node via brew and then re-installed it and everything seems fine. Thanks for the help.
I reinstalled the gem dependency for pygments.rb and that worked for me. Great work guys
I reinstalled everything but still am getting a blank preview page. Also using zsh. Any other ideas?
Same here, it's working for me if I set the variable 'shell' to bash inside Vim, but fails for me if I use zsh. I suspect it has something to do with ruby, but I can't pinpoint what's wrong. When using bash, the ruby doctor process starts up, but in zsh, it never did. How can I debug this further?
Ah figured this out. I'm using Mac OS X and rbenv, and was hit by this bug where my PATH was overwritten inside Vim: https://github.com/dotphiles/dotzsh#mac-os-x. After disabling path_helper, everything worked fine. I suspect this will probably address the failure cases for a lot of people. You should mention in the FAQ section for Mac OS X and rbenv/rvm users.
FAQ should be up-to-date with this problem now.
