My Values

A beautiful, shining, red cut ruby stone

I approach programming as a craft, dedicated to creating durable, long-lasting, useful code. As a leader, I build diverse, creative teams that produce great software. I'm fast and good.

I was very inspired by an early, pivotal encounter with the Ruby programming language, which introduced me to an open source, free culture ethos and community that shaped who I am today. Here's audio of a 10 minute talk I gave at the Stoop Storytelling Series in 2016 explaining how Ruby and Ruby-on-Rails work affected my professional life.

My primary act of service is mentoring new and aspiring computer programmers. Please feel free to email me at You can also connect with me on LinkedIn.
