My Values

A beautiful, shining, red cut ruby stone

I approach programming as a craft, dedicated to creating durable, long-lasting, useful code. As a leader, I build diverse, creative teams that produce great software. I'm fast and good.

I was very inspired by an early, pivotal encounter with the Ruby programming language, which introduced me to an open source, free culture ethos and community that shaped who I am today. Here's audio of a 10 minute talk I gave at the Stoop Storytelling Series in 2016 explaining how Ruby and Ruby-on-Rails work affected my professional life.

Mentoring

My primary act of service is mentoring new and aspiring computer programmers. Please feel free to email me at mike@subelsky.com. You can also connect with me on LinkedIn.
