Say, we have a line of code:

return [vm for vm in vms if vms[vm]['is_a_template']]

Classic vi

  1. Put cursor on 'i' in 'if'
  2. Press 'c'
  3. Press '/'
  4. Enter ']' as a search pattern
  5. Hit enter

Result: all text from current position until first occurrence of ']' is deleted and you enter insert mode. If you hit 'd' in second step instead of 'c', text just gets deleted from 'if' to first occurrence of ']'.

SublimeText Vintage Mode

Performing same steps in Vintage simply puts cursor on first ']' without changing/deleting anything.

Desired behavior

Well, it'd be cool if Vintage would do it the same way vi/vim does :-)
