Problem description

File changes and untracked Files can be Staged individually, Stage All Modified, Stage All Modified and Untracked or using Stage All. With a large amount of files it makes it difficult to review whether current changes are intended to be staged or not.

Preferred solution

Stage a specific file by name using the command palette:

Stage Files... : File Name

Example

Stage Files... : .gitignore

Alternatives

Stage a range of files by name using the command palette:

Example

Stage Files... : src/*

In addition, it'd also be useful to filter the list of files to only those that have modifications to be staged.
