`-w` CLI option requires all windows to be closed when Sublime Text isn't running already

Summary

After closing the tab/view which is opened with -w option, terminal still waits whole sublime appliction to close

Expected behavior

When file is opened with -w option and it is closed the waiting should not occur

Actual behavior

terminal is not released only after whole sublime application is closed

Steps to reproduce

1. subl file1
2. subl file2
3. subl file3
4. close sublime
5. subl -w file4
6. CTRL+W
   EXPECTED: terminal should be released
   If you skip step 4 in this example then step 6 work as expected

Environment

• Operating system and version:
  • Linux Mint 18.1
• Sublime Text:
  • Build 3126
  • 64 bit

I think this might be fixed as of build 3142, at least it works as expected here on my mac.

It certainly doesn't work in 3142 on Linux (Arch), and I can also imagine why.

The only way I can see this working is if ST forked itself (or spawned a new process) which is going to be the main process, while the parent just waits for the requested file to be closed as if it was run with a sublime_text process already running.
Now, I don't know if spawned child processes are considered or ignored by terminals (or other application), although I'd think so.
