Fullscreen Mode - Multiple Projects in One Window

Summary

Sublime Text 3.0 behaves incorrectly when having multiple projects open (in one window, so with multiple tabs at the very top) and closing one of the tabs.

Expected behavior

I would have expected Sublime Text to close the project normally, staying in fullscreen mode and focusing on the other project.

Actual behavior

Sublime Text entered a mode between fullscreen and windowed. So MacOS showed Sublime Text to still be open in fullscreen (when entering Mission Control) however Sublime Text was in a normal window on a pitch black background.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open a new window in Sublime Text 3.0
2. Enter fullscreen mode
3. Press Cmd+, to open preferences in a new tab
4. Close preferences tab

Summary

When opening new windows in when full screen in macOS Sierra, they are added to the same full screen space with tabs. Merging windows like this isn't fully supported in ST3 and closing one of such tabs is buggy.

Expected behavior

Closing windows via CMD + W or via the x on a tab should have the same effect.

Actual behavior

When in full-screen with multiple merged windows, closing windows via the x causes the remaining window to resize.

Steps to reproduce

• Open a window
• Go full screen (cmd+ctrl+F)
• Open a second window in a "Sierra tab", for instance preferences by hitting cmd+,
• Close the preferences tab by hitting cmd+w: it's all good, tab goes away as it should.
• However, open that tab again, and now close it using the x button on the tab
• The window that's now left over resizes to its original size, while staying in a full-screen space
• Closing the window closes the window, but the black full-screen space is still there
• Exiting full screen instead of closing the window also leaves that black full-screen space

Shorter steps to reproduce:

• Open a new window
• Go full screen (CMD + CTRL + F)
• Open preferences (CMD + ,)
• Close preferences using the mouse by clicking the x

When I'm full-screen, I haven't been able to get new windows show up in top-level tabs like shown in that GIF. Newly installed High Sierra and Sublime. Shift-Command-N just keeps opening a completely separate full-size window if I'm in fullscreen mode, or just a completely separate window if I'm not in fullscreen. My other Mac, with the same settings, opens it in a separate project tab.

@elijahio what theme are you using on each Mac? It doesn't work with a custom title bar, e.g. in Adaptive.

I could've sworn I tried switching themes, but I must not have rebooted Sublime or gone full-screen again while testing. This worked! Thank you, and sorry for my lax and possibly disruptive/distracting "issue report" if you can even call it that.
