Minimap enhancement: option to scale to entire file's height?

The minimap's behavior on very long files feels inconsistent, due to the minimap being unwilling to scale down past a certain line height. On small files, it feels great, as it is a more useful alternative to just a scrollbar, but I never actually attempt to read text in the minimap, but just use it as a general shape of the code, which would be fine even with a much smaller scale.

I'm proposing an option like "minimap_show_all", which sacrifices minimap 'legibility' for a consistent feel between small and large file minimap behavior.

Depending on how large your file is I feel like making each line in the minimap smaller than 1.5 pixels (which it seems to be right now) is not noticable anymore. It would probably work for HighDPI displays but it won't for standard displays.

I think it depends on your usage of the minimap. I think there are a subset of users that just see it as some nice sugar on top of a functioning full-file scrollbar, which is exactly how it operates on smaller files. I would happily take a merge of multiple lines onto a single pixel row to regain usage consistency.
