What is this?
Letters is an English word creation game, written by Peter Hewitt.
Inspired by the TV show, "Letters and Numbers".
Players are given 8 letters and have to make as long an English word as possible.
Letters has a dictionary of 42,566 English words, with some editorial control.
How to use?
Letters is not part of the Sugar desktop, but can be added. Please refer to;
- How to Get Sugar on sugarlabs.org,
- How to use Sugar, and;
- Download Letters using Browse, search for
Letters, then download.
Click on a letter to choose it, or reject it. Or use the keyboard;
- a letter key will choose that letter if possible, or if not reject that letter,
- enter, or tick; try my word,
- space, or square; make new letters.
- delete, or backspace; reject latest letter,
- up arrow; reject all the letters,
- left or right arrows; move the mouse pointer,
How to upgrade?
On Sugar desktop systems;
- use My Settings, Software Update, or;
- use Browse to open activities.sugarlabs.org, search for
Letters, then download.
How to integrate?
Letters depends on Python, Pygame, GTK+ 3, and the Sugar Toolkit.
