Google and Firefox tested
When using contenteditable="false" on a parent div with contenteditable="true" on children/descendant div, you cannot type the "space" character. It fires a screen scrolling action in the browser and does not actually allow the space to be entered. You can type other characters fine, just not a space.
This seems to have been introduced in 0.7.0 as 0.6.16 does not exhibit this behavior and works as expected. Any version (including the lastest) beyond 0.6.16 shows the error. You can see this in the Bootply sample above by just changing the version.
Further testing shows that this only occurs when the contenteditable component is included inside one that is not contenteditable. Siblings work but nest "true" inside a "false" does not work and a space cannot be entered although all other typed characters do.
