It seems reasonable that this behaviour should apply when evaluating regions as well as lines. I've marked this as an enhancement, rather than a bug, since it does work strictly as advertised, but I think it would make sense.

If it makes sense, it should be separately configurable. I can imagine users with long code regions, longer than 2 or 3 screens, getting annoyed when hitting ctrl-return and then the cursor jumps 100 lines forward into the next region. One of those users who would get very cross at this behavior would be myself.

@timblechmann

where shall it step to? the next line, the next region, the line after the region? for evaluating lines, stepping forward is rather natural, but i am not sure about the best behavior for evaluating regions

To me it seems that the logical entity would be the next region (or if no region exists, then next line) if the current selection was only a line.

This could be useful when you have a lot of small regions you want to play around with. On the other hand, there is already a key binding for jump to the next/previous region, no?
I couldn't find it in the menu.

I agree with James Harkins that this behaviour should be separately configurable though.
