shift-click behaviour, extending selection #556

Given a selection from i_0 to i_1. It would be nice if shift-click on an index i_2 smaller than (further up from) i_0 would extend the selection from the last one i_1 and not from i_0. This allows to extend the selection on both sides. Not essential but nice.

quite a non-standard behavior. is this implemented in any other editor?

I see it on TextEdit, SuperCollider, OpenOffice, Apple Mail.
Conventions might be system dependent. It is useful though.
It is also common to do a similar thing for editing sound files or time lines.

I sort of remember not liking that behavior, back in my Mac days... fair enough feature request, but I would vote for a preference.
