Cursor forced to end of line #710
Under some circumstances, when a line in the editor wraps around to a new line (for example if making the editor window narrower, forcing a line to wrap), you can no longer click to place the cursor in the middle of a line. Instead, the cursor is forced to the end of the line.
You can still navigate with arrow and option+arrow keys to move the cursor to the middle of the line, but cannot click to place the cursor there.
Making the window wide again, allowing the line to unwrap and only occupy a single line, the problem goes away.
It's hard to intentionally recreate different cases, but the following line is one example. Paste it and resize the editor to force it to wrap to see the problem.
s.options.numInputBusChannels = 32; s.options.numInputBusChannels = 32; s.options.numInputBusChannels = 32; s.options.numInputBusChannels = 32; s.options.numInputBusChannels = 32;
Mac 10.6, SC 3.6 alpha2
Ah... I was able to track down the problem more specifically.
It turns out I am in fact on 3.6.2 (it wasn't clear from Menu>SuperCollider>About Supercollider listing just 3.6, though upon re-installing from the recent build, it was the same).
I thought it may have been due to the fact that I retained the 'sc_ide_conf.yaml' file so that I could keep my editor colorizing and key shortcut modifications. Through some troubleshooting with this, it turns out that my font INCONSOLATA, is the problem. Other fonts behave properly, but Inconsolata, for some reason seems to cause the problem described above. After reinstalling and manually setting the font (without using an old ide_config file), the problem shows up, so the old ide_config file wasn't the issue.
Not sure if this is a problem with the way the font was built, so perhaps there's nothing to be done about it on the SC side...? I may have to just get used to a different font?
