limits for complex variables #3496

I am fixing limits and there are problems with assumptions.

Some things, like log(exp(x)) won't simplify for x complex and the
algorithm will completely break down. So one needs to explicitely set all
symbols to real. Which brings me to our old issue, to resolve the
assumptions in some way.

In [1]: z = Symbol('z', complex=True)

In [2]: log(exp(z))
Out[2]: z

Is something needs to be done here?

Yes, as usuall, writting a test is needed.

Some tests are in:

sympy/functions/elementary/tests/test_exponential.py

but it needs cleanup.

Let's start from the fact that complex logarithm Ln(z) is multi-valued function http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complex_logarithm and 2_pi_I is on the second Riemann surface of that Ln.

So to me the example you are showing, is related to supporting Riemann surfaces and
branch cuts.

Does this break current limits?

It means that the simplification log(exp(z)) -> z is invalid.

It is probably valid many cases when computing limits, but only because z then likely
is real. If the limit code needs log(exp(z)) -> z, it must handle this some other way
than by automatic rewriting, either by adding assumptions about z being real, or
through some form of customized rewriting.

Yes, in limits, "z" is real, thus all is ok.

Let's just think how to solve this issue in general.
