Synfig version & platform:
Synfig 1.2.2.. Windows

Issue description:

File - Render - GIF - go.
Nothing seems to happen. But in my folder I can see a file is gradually getting bigger so it's working. But I have no idea when it's finished. Please add a a window or progress bar or toast or something to give user feedback here

Yea for mp4, you just see a cmd prompt and it is complete when cmd closes… just a console.writeline like in blender would be great!

Hi,

I added a Render Progress Bar in Dock_Info.
It takes account of possible 2 passes (Extract Alpha option) and goes from 0.0% to 100.0%
It brings Dock_Info panel to front if it is not already the case.
Of course you can add the chime on render done in the preference.

For reference I also added a little tutorial in dev section of the wiki https://wiki.synfig.org/Dev:Adding_a_Render_progress_bar
Hoping it will satisfy everyone :)

P.S.: Requests about this features are palindromes: 626, 383 and also in 464 ^^
