TagSpaces 1.7.9 native client
OS X 10.9.2 (13C64)

cut/copy/paste/select_all with shortcuts [command-x/c/v/a] is broken

// notes:

  • shortcuts used to work in 1.7.8, so probably the issue was introduced with this change >> [osx]disabling the file menu on mac
  • cut/copy/paste/select_all shortcuts work fine in the Chrome [Mac version] extension
  • shortcuts for undo/redo are fixed now, bold/italic/underline etc. work just fine in the native app

// misc/question:
the context menu is missing from the osx native client, [ present in the Chrome extension ] -- is that an app limitation or a valid issue?

I have disabled the menu, because some users expected to copy and paste files with this functionality, but it was only for texts... And it was visible only on the mac version.

Which context menu is missing exactly, can you please attach a screenshot?

Hehe, usually I'm totally fine without the Edit menu, never used it for copy/paste/whatever, though having it would be great, e.g. for situations when there's no way to copy/paste with shortcuts or from the context menu.

I've attached a screenshot of the context menu I was talking about, a menu that is opened by the secondary mouse click :)

Just checked how the Edit menu works in Evernote -- when a note is selected, but not being edited, clipboard-related items are disabled. However, Select All is active to be able to select multiple notes, plus a couple of other items.

I can create a separate improvement ticket for that, if you're fine with a solution like this :)

Morning! I confirm that this commit f52e6b9 has broken cut/copy/paste/select_all shortcuts in the text/html editor. However, when these are working, undo/redo shortcuts are not.

Hi, thank you for your investigation, I will restore the previous functionality in the next release. And yes, you can create a new requirement for the evernote like functionality.

I think this may have been reintroduced in 1.9.0. I can't use the Cmd+V Cmd+C or any of those shortcuts in the native osx tagspaces client.

This is Tagspaces 1.9.0 OSX64 and OSX version 10.9.5
