IOS 26 Dev Beta 5, Tailscale installer does not install VPN entry

What is the issue?

During install "Tailscale" Would Like to Add VPN Configurations. Clicking 'Allow' brings up the VPN configuration settings page, but no entry is added. Cannot continue with install.

Expect a new extry for Tailscale to be added to VPN Configuration list.

OS: IOS 26 Dev Beta 5
SW: Tailscale for iOS Version 1.84.1

Steps to reproduce

1. Install Tailscale from App Store (using QR code on Tailscale download page)
2. Click 'Get Started', 'I Understand', 'Allow Notifications', 'Allow'
3. On Add VPN Configuration page, click 'Install'
4. Click 'Allow'
5. Displays VPN settings page with no entries.

Are there any recent changes that introduced the issue?

Latest IOS build. Not sure if worked previously, first install of Tailscale.

This is a bug with iOS 26 (at least from beta 4). It will not work when a passcode is set because the passcode is not triggered while trying to install a vpn profile (not limited to Tailscale, but all apps that need to install a vpn profile). Try disabling the passcode, adding the profile and setting the passcode again. That should get it back installed and working.

Do any workarounds exist where MDM permits disabling the passcode? Can the VPN be configured manually?

I'm wondering the same thing, being able to manually configure this while the iOS 26 beta is having problems would be really nice

Got the VPN configured with current version of tailscale app on iOS26 beta 6 (23A5318c)
