To make edits to the timeline files and then push them to the remote server, it is necessary to start a local server. The procedure for doing this is outlined below: To start a HTTP server on port 8000 (which is the default port), simply type:

python -m SimpleHTTPServer [port number here]

This will now show the files and directories which are in the current working directory. You can also change the port to something else:

python -m SimpleHTTPServer 8000

Navigating into the directory which has the timeline files, and then starting up the local server with the above command sets up the timeline at the local address:

http://localhost:8000/

If you have chosen a different port number other than 8000 then navigating to localhost:xxxx will let you access the website. Note. For some computers, different ports may be in use so if you experience problems with this you may need to run the command with a different port number eg. 4000.
