Synopsis
TL;DR?
Combine Reddit, Patreon, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Wikipedia, Ethereum, Steemit, Twitter, YouTube, and Pizza Hut's BookIt program and you may begin to get a vision for my vision.
Why?
Learning and possessing knowledge are valuable things to know about when having a conversation online with someone. Right now, there is no good way to figure out how competent someone is online, and that results in very bad conversations and echo chambers and all kinds of other bad stuff. I'm creating this website to combat that.
How?
Initially, the prototype of the site is just going to be used to see how things work in practice. After we get a better feel for how people interact with topics given a new voting and visibility paradigm for content, we will link the sites Proof of Competency to a cryptocommodity.
Along with the commodity, users will earn an irrevokable (or perhaps slowly decaying - think Duolingo) reputation for compentency in given areas. The commodity can be sold on markets and the reputation will act as a power supply to a user's 'magnetic' abilities. We're going to treat topic boards as giant electromagnets. After all, when we post something to Reddit, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, or any other social media platform, we want eyes on our posts. So far, no one has been able to solve how to do that very well without producing echo chambers or giving too much power to too few people.
I beleieve this website is the fix for that issue.
More details on this will be coming soon. I'll write up a Wiki as well, which will also be an actual part of the site that people will be able to interact with.
