I am a new user to polo and quite impressed, but I cannot believe it cannot drag and drop.
This is definitely a deal breaker for me, too.

Also a deal breaker, hopefully being implemented soon!

This requires a lot of time to implement. I can add this if someone can sponsor the work.

Lets share the project as much as we all can! L'Open Source a une origine communautaire...
(I mostly speak french...)
This project is winner! But it needs Drag&Drop. Lets share the real need and show the project!
Lets call for a little help!
I'm on Framasphere (under Redj) and already shared I was testing Polo. I will focus on it much more, now that I'm here!
I know nothing about developing (except I know it need time and that time is money...)
I don't have money, but I have time...
This is my first involvement in any computer/app project: I'll do my best to help!

What does open for sponsorship mean? How much do you need? @teejee2008

First good looking filemanager after Konqueror that supports Multi-Pane-View, nice :)! But without Drag-and-Drop...

I am pleased to find this issue. A 'Drag-n-Drop' is now a basic feature of GUI interfaces. Some business software (e.g. Xero) don't take a path, you need to drag a file to the browser for uploading.

Earlier today I tried a drag and drop of a PDF to Gmail (web client) using Polo there was some kind of D-BUS error that locked-out the GUI. I restarted the desktop but mouse and gui navigation functions did not resume. Had to reboot from the command shell.

So whatever polo is doing at the moment runs into some kind of fundamental GTK 'thing' underneath the desktop and the dm. I note that this is a beta version (v18.8.3 BETA), so if Drag-n-Drop is NOT supported; it should not attempt to use DBUS or what ever it does at this point.

On that level there is a BUG in there too, not just a feature request.

I quite like polo only after a few days with it. Unfortunately I need basic functions for work-a-day tasks, so percentage of time for me to do beta-tester stuff will be very much reduced.

After two years without update, the new version, with "drag and drop", will be published... The Day After Tomorrow

PD: If this project is not going to receive more updates or is discontinued, why not archive it. So that users no longer waste their time and don't ask questions like this and maybe other users will be encouraged to fork and continue the project... But, if the problem is $$$, say how much do you need to update this program

This project is not currently a priority for me. Developing this application is time-consuming and I don't have the time or finances to work for free on something that does not bring any income ( I already have a full-time job ). Making it paid also does not make any sense as very few people will buy it.

If someone wants to fork this project please go ahead. This is a open-source project that anybody can fork and develop. What is the point of open-source if everybody keeps complaining to the same developer to do the work? Open-source does not mean free labour... it means free access to code. An open source project where everyone is waiting for a single developer is pointless. It might as well be closed-source.

As far as archiving this project is concerned, I'm not finished with it. I still use it everyday and it is good enough for my use. I will be releasing another version when I get the time. It may happen tomorrow or it may happen 10 years from now. That is the nature of open-source development.

If somebody has experience with implementing drag-and-drop in GTK please go ahead and implement the changes. You can either fork this project or send me a pull request.

I have archived this project. I will be releasing this project again under a paid licence at some point in the future (maybe next year if I get the time).

If someone wants to fork this project please go ahead. This is a open-source project that anybody can fork and develop.

For people who are still using this app there is no need to be disappointed. I'm going to take my time finishing this app before I launch it again. When it launches again, it will be a finished product with a regular development cycle. And as a paid app you will have some surety that the project is sustainable.
