A Linux/GTK+ desktop client for App.Net
Aladn isn't currently functional at all. These instructions are for folks interested in trying to get a build up & running to track progress.
Package names are for Debian. RedHat users will need equivalent packages.
- libappnet (see Installation below)
- valac >= 0.16.0
To build libappnet with the gobject-introspection support required by valac, you will also need:
- libglib2.0-dev >= 2.24.0
- libsoup2.4-dev >= 2.30.0
- libjansson-dev >= 2.3.0
- libgirepository1.0-dev >= 1.30.0
- vapigen >= 0.16.0 (should come with the valac package)
Please note that these version numbers are not set in stone & should merely be used as a guide at this point in time.
Also note that the libappnet configure script doesn't do a great job of detecting which version of vapigen you have installed at the moment. Older versions of vapigen/valac are known to break.
First, build libappnet with gobject-introspection support enabled.
git clone git://github.com/thomaslee/libappnet cd libappnet ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-introspection make make install
If all goes well, you should be ready to build aladn:
cd .. git clone git://github.com/thomaslee/aladn cd aladn make
If there are no errors (you can safely ignore vala compiler warnings), you should now have an aladn binary in the current working directory.
