I believe this version adds the feature of automatically updating the ctags database when the buffer is saved:

Dan,

Chris Toomey and I are working on an auto ctags updating thing here:
https://github.com/christoomey/magictags , it's vaguely inspired by
http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=1343 except:

  1. I wanted something simpler, in terms of dependencies and code I could
    more easily understand,
  2. It's rails-ish for now, but it'd be trivial for us to make it work
    better for everything ctags understands.

It's built entirely in vimscript and calls out to basic POSIX commands to
do its work, along with git.

I'd love to get your feedback on this if you've got strong opinions on what
it should do. It's still a WIP, but I'd say we'll be ready for a release
in a week or two. The cjt-git-relative-paths branch is the one to look at,
or master after this gets merged.
