In Processing, we cannot access functions of the API that are not available through an extended class like PSMove or PSMoveTracker. For example: count_connected() cannot be called.

I just looked up section 21.3.2 ("Functions") in http://www.swig.org/Doc1.3/Java.html and found that it's actually mapped as static method already:

import io.thp.psmove.psmoveapi;

int connected = psmoveapi.count_connected();

Fixed in commit c703331 by updating the multi-controller example, and commit 5c52d44 shows how it's done from the Java side of things.
