http://jubilator.thumblemonks.com/#/BinaryMuse/rails-book/blob/dcbfba994fc6dcf622ba3031d78edd1d41842456/user.rb

See the regex there, it shows up as:
email_regex = /\A([^@\s]+)@((?:[-a-z0-9]+\.)+[a-z0-9]+)\Z/i

The raw in github is:
email_regex = /\A([^@\s]+)@((?:[-a-z0-9]+.)+[a-z0-9]+)\Z/i
(https://github.com/BinaryMuse/rails-book/raw/master/app/models/user.rb)
Notice the double escaping.

This was in Firefox 3.6.3 on OS X
