As of b637bbd there are examples of usage of functions tbl_df(), as.tbl() (which I think should have been tbl_df() in the first place), and as_tibble() from {dplyr}. It is now recommended to use as_tibble() and tibble() from {tibble} directly.

Maybe it is better to use {tibble} in that cases?

Definitely. These are remnants of a previous time. Let's use {tibble} directly going forward.
