## Buffered Terrarium and Normal

The **Terrarium** and **Normal** format tiles are also available with a two-pixel buffer on each side of the tile, giving overall tile sizes of 260x260 pixels and 516x516pixels.

*Note that the buffered tiles are only available via Mapzen Terrain Tiles service, not via the Amazon Public Data bucket.*

## GeoTIFF

**GeoTIFF** format tiles are raw elevation data suitable for analytical use and are optimized to reduce transfer costs in 512x512 tile sizes but with internal 256x256 image pyramiding, in Web Mercator projection (EPSG:3857). See [GDAL documentation](http://www.gdal.org/frmt_gtiff.html) for more information.
