.TH READISO 1 "24 Jul 1998"
.UC 4
.SH NAME
readiso \- reads
ISO9660 and other format cd-roms into image files

.SH SYNOPSIS
.B readiso
[
.B options
] <
.B imagename
>

.SH DESCRIPTION
.I readiso
is used to generate image file(s) from the tracks on cd. Produced image
file does not contain any extra headers, so it's ready to be writen
back to blank disc using some writing software (like cdrecord or cdwrite).
In Linux
it's also possible to mount the image file
(eg. mount -t iso9960 -o loop,ro /foo/myimage.cd /mnt)
NOTE! Current version is also able to dump non ISO9660 cds to image files.
In Irix, it's also possible to copy audio tracks into AIFF (AIFF-C) files.

.SH OPTIONS
.PP
Options may be either the traditional POSIX one letter options, or the
GNU style long options. POSIX style options start with a single
``\-'', while GNU long options start with ``\-\^\-''.

Options offered by
.I readiso
are the following:
.TP 0.6i
.B -d<device>, --device=<device>
Specifies the scsi device to use (instead of the default device,
which is specified during the compilation)
.TP 0.6i
.B -h, --help
Displays short usage information and exits.
.TP 0.6i
.B -i, --info
Display only the disc TOC record and information about the ISO9660 image
(no need to specify image file when using this option).
.TP 0.6i
.B -m, --md5
Calculate also MD5 checksum for imagefile (uses RSA Data Security, Inc.
MD5 Message-Digest Algorithm).
.TP 0.6i
.B -M, --MD5
Calculate MD5 checksum of disc (without creating the imagefile).
.TP 0.6i
.B -v, --verbose
Enables verbose mode (positively chatty).
.TP 0.6i
.B --dump=<lba,n>
Dump (copy) n sectors from cd, starting from lba.
.TP 0.6i
.B --force=<mode>
Force program to trust blindly either ISO primary descriptor or
TOC record for the size of image.
Mode can be one of the following:
.RS
.TP
.B 1
trust ISO primary descriptor
.TP
.B 2
trust disc's TOC record.
.PP
Normally, if program thinks that ISO primary descpritor has suspicious
(too small) value for volume size, it uses automagically TOC record
to determine the actual size of the image.
.RE
.TP 0.6i
.B --track=<number>
Reads specified track (default is to read first data track found).
.TP 0.6i
.B --scanbus
Scan SCSI bus and exit.
.TP 0.6i
.B --dumpaudio=<lba,n>
Dump raw audio sectors with subcode-q data (2352 + 16 bytes).
.TP 0.6i
.B --aiff
Select AIFF as output file format for audio tracks.
.TP 0.6i
.B --aiffc
Select AIFF-C as output file format for audio tracks.

.SH BUGS (or features :)
Dumping of audio tracks works only with SGI Irix.
