Astrolog v6.10

@toddcarnes toddcarnes released this Mar 20, 2016 · 6 commits to master since this release

Identical to the official release at http://www.astrolog.org/astrolog.htm, except it has been compiled as a 64-bit executable.

Basically, if you don't want or need a 64-bit version of Astrolog, you should probably just stick with Walter Pullen's official release at the URL above.

Nothing was added or removed in terms of functionality.

Also, new with this release, a 64-bit linux version has been added.

Walter's original release announcement from 19 Mar 2016

Happy start of Aries and celestial New Year everyone, and happy Lunar Eclipse in a few days too! :) A new version of Astrolog has been created and released! Download it here: http://www.astrolog.org/astrolog/astfile.htm

The full list of updates is in the Astrolog 6.10 release notes: http://www.astrolog.org/ftp/changes.htm

In summary, there are 7 new command switches, 12 improvements to existing features, and 20 bug fixes. Highlights include:

1) The Swiss Ephemeris is now used for house positions, for improved accuracy there too.

2) Implements the new "Pullen (Sinusoidal Ratio)" house system: http://www.astrolog.org/astrolog/astsine.htm

3) Calculate true positions in space vs. apparent positions in sky (i.e. consider speed of light travel time).

4) Calculate topocentric positions relative to your position on earth (specify elevation above sea level first).

Identical to the official release at http://www.astrolog.org/astrolog.htm, except for a couple minor changes to allow Visual Studio 2015 to compile it as either a 32-bit or a 64-bit executable.

Basically, if you don't want or need a 64-bit version of Astrolog, you should probably just stick with Walter Pullen's official release at the URL above.

Nothing was added or removed in terms of functionality.
