Add 1x1 widget for fast entry via voice

I would like to hear what others might think about this idea for a todo.txt-touch widget.

Design and use

The widget would be a 1x1 widget that could be added to the home screen. Pressing this button would immediately pull up the voice interpretation ("Speak Now") waiting for the user to speak.

The user then speaks their note or task into the phone, which is then added to todo.txt without further prompting and the user is returned to their Android home screen.

Why that?

Often I find myself thinking of ideas while driving or walking around the house/town. For maximum capture, I think it would be good to be able to quickly assimilate something like a task or idea that pops into my head into todo.txt and out of my brain.

Suggestions?

If there is any interest in this feature, I would be glad to draft a pull request for it. I want to gage the interest in this one so that the work is not done in vain, however. I know that one of the major tenants of this application is simplicity, and I believe this falls within that while improving (however insignificantly) the widget portion of the app. Thanks!

Hi there! First, so sorry it took so long to get back to you. My daughter was born 3 weeks ago so everything went on hold. I'm the only one who gets email notifications of new issues, so the best way to gauge interest in/pitch a new feature is to post to the Todo.txt mailing list about it to get the community's feedback:

Personally I'd welcome the pull request.

Closing this ticket due to lack of activity, but again I'd welcome the pull request.
